Stupid question probably, but why molasses? What about it makes it such a good cleaner?

The enzymes in it eat the rust or something, I'm looking on the web for the article I saw.

I got mine at the horsey shop on the way into Windsor, but any stockfeed place would have it.

Yes but you don't really live in the big smoke do you?
Any place that has sheep dip commercials on TV doesn't rate.

Just realised - Randwick racecourse is just next door - the biggest collection of horses and horse like types - they must have a supply somewhere.

Now now - nobody dips sheep anymore - its dioxin and mono lactone spray-ons. If you came here or there or could even visualise forms of life west of the curtain you would know that - its widely advertised on tv.

At coles Bondi Jct today saw a 1/2 kg jar of molasses in the health food section, this might be my back up option.

Probably an expensive way of buying it. - the stock feed place I got mine sold it in old 2 litre plastic milk bottles  $2.30 a bottle

If you know any dairy farmers ask them and they'll normally give you a couple of litres . Try a produce/stock feed place as well .

I live at Paddington (5 minutes from the city) and work in the city. I reckon the nearest dairy farmer is 400k away.

Mike,
centennial park stables would have it also. Horses have it mixed with their oats. Personally I prefer milk with mine but each to their own.
