Too right, the Traveller was the top of the range in early '61. The Cooper hadn't been released yet and the only other option was a couple of trim levels available in the 850 sedan.
Like everything on this car, the heater is different from the ones that were used here.

I have the same heater in my van TImbo, is yours equipped with the factory BMC rust at the bottom too?

Actually no. For some reason they must have been running short of rust when they built my Traveller. Years ago I restored a 20 year old Deluxe that had ten times as much rust as this Traveller. Its not clear to my whether the Aussie Deluxe was leakier and rustier than the English Traveller, or if the difference was that the Traveller was better garaged and lived in Canberra, while the Deluxe lived the hard life in Hobart.

Its clear to me...dry as a bone most times here in Canberra...cars last longer :D

Canberra has a higher rainfall than Hobart...it rains here less but more often. In the winter Hobart is cool and wet, whereas Canberra is like a freeze drier.
