As I said in PM all you need on an HIF44 is a nice radius- if the existing one is too small just bung the carb in a lathe and make it bigger.
I only make stubstacks for carbs with a sharp corner- eg HS2, HS4, and sidedraft Weber/Dellorto.

the rest is a piece of junk, but I have a new needle and seat and seal kit for it. Plus I will bling it up a bit.

If I keep this backplate am I stuck with a certain filter or can I use any kind?
