I had it running last year. The grass is growing well at the moment.

I'm with Mike Byron.

(Some??) Ss had a filter bypass light. It had nothing to do with pressure....well not general oil presure anyway. The idea being that when the filter blocked up (generally through lack of servicing) a little valve would open in the filter head allowing oil to bypass the filter. Better dirty oil then none at all; but definitely something you wanted to know about soonish.

I don't think (but am willing to be corrected) that Ss ever had spin on filters. So, when a PO fitted one, the spare wire was probably just tucked away somewhere.

If you can't find the bung wire just remove the bulb.

Cheers, Ian

Same here Mick
And provide we dont have a sudden unexpected hot spell - the RFS has called an end to the fire season. But, bloody hell, we have waist deep grass that is yet to hay off - it would be a fast moving fire if it did hay and had a breeze behind it.

Spin-on filters came in the mid-70s, long after the last Cooper S was made.
As said by someone, just find that spare wire and tape it up...
