Yes I'm aware of this, and I do have both kinds of shroud and both types of indicator switch. The problem is that I lose functionality by switching to the Mk1 switch. Even if I were to replace the steering wheel with one that has a horn, I still wouldn't be able to use my high beams (Mk1's had the extra pedal on the floor for those).

So basically, I need to keep my later indicator switch, but it doesn't fit under the longer shroud for the Mk1 column. I'm going to need to remove the mounting points on the Mk1 column and use the newer shroud that goes with my switch. I don't think there's any other option.

Actually, I could take the sleeve off the early column and use the sleeve from the newer one so that I don't have to modify the mounting points for the shroud. Are they exactly the same diameter?
