I too am part of the happy community of Ausmini-ers that have been on the receiving end of TK's generosity. And I have recently been able to help out a fellow mini nut with some hard to get bits for his S.

Cheers TK, I have not forgotten, and the photos of my finished van will be on their way to you fairly soon with any luck!

Justin... you might want to edit your post about the bumperettes because it sounds like you`re saying that you gave them to me "the miniman" to pass on for you

obviously it wasn`t me because if it were, then i`d have most certainly have passed them on for you.

& in saying that, if any of you do come to me for whatever reason (be it parts &/or repairs &/or advice) then you will notice that i give away a fair bit of parts & labour & an enormaous amount of advice,,, i certainly don`t charge full retail price to anyone, anytime & i nearly allways give away a pile of fiddly stuff away while doing whatever job it is that i`m doing for said customer.

I never charge out new bolts, nuts & washers (which i allways use a pile on for nearly every single job) I never charge out cleaning & greases etc,,, there`s a whole host of stuff i basically give away while i`m doing a job

If i`m given a pile of parts then whoever needs them later gets them cheaper than they`re worth (normally less than half price),,, except for the rare & hard to find bits tho, some of which i`ll keep for myself if i don`t have them.

yes, it`s a matter of pay it forward i reckon & there`s definately not enough of it going around,,, if i didn`t need to rely on repairing minis for a living then i`d most certainly be giving even more stuff away for free.

I have found Mini owners both generous with their time, expertise and the odd part. I got infected with the bug through my son in law and have never looked back (ok I do when I reverse).

I have spent hours wandering around John Smyths shop (he really does need a sign back to the front door..lol) and never miss an opportunity to chat to other mini owners.

When I hosted the 1st NSW Ausmini Garage day, Emma turned up with her clubby which had been in an accident, everyone pitched in to get it driveable and I was glad to have a spare grill which I donated.

I agree in a world where if ya fall down people abuse then step over you, its good to see unselfish acts!

as it happens I do, see if you can find one locally and if not let me know.

Also I think it's fairly good but I'll need to check.

Ofetn our mini's break and sometimes i have no idea on what to do, or a part that has broken and i dont have a spare. There is another local loke in town who has minis. and he hung around them for ages and he is always willing to give us a hand. When he comes for visits to se what were up to he will often get his hands dirty and whatever part i need he usually has no problems with chucking it my way, i dont even ask and he offers it to me (as long as it has no S on its name).

I mean another bloke nearby pumped my bros bags up for free - using the original formula fluid that he obtained from a chemist who used to mix it up for the factory.

Neither of these blokes are aus-miniers however are mini fans. So generaly mini-fellas(and gals) are awesome top people.

Was a bit off topic- but still related

Brenton
