Luckily at our last place and now at our new house, the only complaint I have is that they always ring the bell bang on 7am. Invariably that means the contractor gets an eyeful of me in my undies.

as a current driver for a courier co(including startrack express all be it linehaul driver)you do have to deliver the damaged goods aswell so a claim can be made against the courier co. involved and you should always inspect before signing and note it on the con note as damaged and a brief desciption of damage and get driver to sign it.That said all the courier co.s we work for are pretty good with all freight :D hope all works out for you

Why? they are a fine example of Chinese Quality (and I don't have tongue in cheek here).
Pity they can't make most other car stuff as good...

Sorry, if what i see from the fotos is what you got, the people sending the gear you paid for were pathetic in the wrapping. I have bought heaps of stuff for my car from interstate and also Spain, Italy, the Uk and the US and all these folks have packaged the gear so well. This ain't bad delivery; this is bad despatching.
OZ Post just pick up and drop the quality package in transit. I don't work for 'em but get orf their backs.

bamnfi, i think youd like to extract your foot from your mouth right about now :P
if i understand this right, andrew (my_mini_rocks) sent a package via auspost, and its come back to him. It looks to me that it was decently wrapped to ensure it go to victoria safely, surely there must be a duty of care somewhere. Looks like theyve dropped it and run over it with a forklift or something.

(if this doesnt make sense, excuse me, im quite drunk :D )

bamnfi, I have order stuff from mini sport before and they put a great deal of time and effort into the packaging. With their effort that they go to something like that shouldn't have happened in normal transit.

Something out of the ordinary has happened along the way to cause that, which is not Mini Sports fault at all.

If you have actually used Mini Sport before in the past, you would know that they actually pack things really well. It would take much more force than just dropping it a couple of times to smash a rocker cover like that.

When I was growing up my father had a Post Office agency in the corner of his Pharmacy. If I was around I would get to tie off and seal the post sacks. If any item in the sack was marked 'Fragile' then the sack was so marked as well.

We had a driver that treated the sacks like garbage and would throw them about and into the truck - if it was labeled 'Fragile' he would be worst and I saw him kicking a sack down the road to the truck. We reported him several times but nothing was ever done.

That sort of mind set probably still exists in some people.

Yeah, we sent the goods to our client, they never arrived to him and where returned to us in a bag saying....sorry I think we broke it.....lol

I think this was well packaged, it had a foam product around the cover itself, it was in a cardboard box, and it had bubble wrap over it.....
Maybe from now on we will send everything in a wooden box....

I have had my horror stories with freight companys aswell (ask anton), I am sure this is just 'one of those things' but it has left be gobsmacked!

From my experience at the dispatch end, I don't think there is any way you could have packed that better. Any suggestion that packing it in 17 layers of bubblewrap would have saved it when somebody backed a lorry over it is just silly. You can only really pack it to protect it in 95% of circumstances. That other 5% involves being driven over my trucks, speared by forklifts, set on fire, or involved in a fatal plane crash. There isn't much you can do in those circumstances (and yes, I have had goods go missing due to a plane crash).
