I also drive with these on all the time.

You are not allowed to drive with your driving or fog lights on during daylight time as it may distract other drivers the onlt time you are is if its due to the weather (fog/impaired visability/down pour). During the night same as high beams.........unless there in no on comming traffic etc, etc......

This is to the best of my knowledge.....

What about funeral processions?

It would have to be a pretty bloody mean cop that would start booking people in a funeral procession for having their lights on in fine weather.

You can have headlights or parking lights on any time, day or night.
It's illegal to have your foggies on unless there's fog, and illegal to have spotties on unless high beam is on too.
This driving around with foggies on in daytime was made most popular by recent CommonwhoreSS and Munro tragic younguns.. "look at me, look at meee..."
If I was a cop, I'd book em too... 8)

It certainly became shorthand for 'look at me - i'm a tosser' in the UK with the proliferation of Citroen Saxos and Pug 106s with the low-mounted driving lamps in the bumper.

Funny thing was, as soon as I had a rental Saxo with those lights I couldn't help myself, I drove all day with them on. Dunno how it happened, the urge overtook my common sense the second i sat in the car.

That said, i do have desires of having a full set of massive spotlights on the front of my mini one day. I know they will never serve any purpose in day-to-day city driving but I have always desired them. I was trying to work out mow many Cibie Super Oscars would fit in between the headlights...

Used to have a cheapo huddersfield spares 4-set of spots/fogs on my wife's old mini in the UK, fitted them before we did our tour of europe. I just love the way a mini looks when the front is all lights.

We had them hooked up so that a flash of the high-beam (but not permanent hi-beam) flashed all 6 lights (they were also seperately switchable), again for some demented reason, I loved it! it was great for flashing other minis on the roads. :)

Funny isn't it, I drive small car and worry that 'they' won't see me, bit worse in the Moke.
But then 'the wanka' comes boring down on me, huge 4X4 with cute lights that have burnt the paint of my back bumper, and yes I guess I saw him coming LOL.

BUT what is even funnier when the jerk in the BMW (add assorted Euro cars) has to have his rear fog lights on in case I can't see his arse, and no we don't really have fog in SA (except in the hills ok).

And then there are the boys in blue, so how many wanka SS's are there with all the lights on all day, my friend a 55 year old, grey haired, mother of grown up kids, got booked for driving with her fog lights on (after her son had driven her car with them on!!!) by mistake, go figure!

Sorry forgot to add the final funny thing!

When I was a teen driver (and knew everything!) I had a Dato 1600 and added 2 spot lights (total of six headlights), I got defected because they were not wired through my high beam circuit!

Enough rave from me.

Ever notice the number of mid-late 90s model Barina's (Opel Corsa) with their rear fog lights on?

My mate had one and the fog light switch was just where his right knee would hit it when he got in or out, we were always being flashed at for having it on.

All answers are absolutely correct, it is now an offence to drive in Vic with Fog Lights ( Front or rear anti collision red lights) operating in clear visability, $119.00

I got H4 conversions fitted to my car when Steve built it and they are fantastic, better than standard Head lights of a Commode or Ford, IMO.

SORRY MATE TURN THEM OFF, if you want to be seen get a bright orange flag on a pole and connect it to your front bumper, like the ones they use on wheel charrs...LOL......

I love the way that city drivers fit fog lights and driving lights and never actually drive on dark roads.
Most city drivers will drive on a country road in the middle of the night on low beam because they have never used high beam in their life.

Now a rant about fog lights. Most people don't know how or when to use fog lights. When it is foggy put your headlights on. They will provide more visibility in most foggy conditions. (and other cars will see you better as well)
But when the fog is that thick that your own headlights are dazzling you as they reflect back off the fog, that is the time to turn on the fog lights.

...and your headlights off. Fog lights are designed to be used with Parkers. The number of people you see with both their Fog Lights and normal headlights on.....you still get the bounce of the fog.

The reason fog lights are low is so they light up the road and dont bounce back at you. Simple.

end of rant.

Dicko.
