I have serious Doubts as to the mileage claimed at 17900.
By the took of the engine bay and interior I would say more like 117900miles.

Dave

Just a point of interest, Almost every Cooper S that I bought from the ex Goverment Auctions, Had a Speedo Reading of around 100 Miles, The factory fitted Speedo was disconnected when the police Speedo was installed, I always checked the mileage on the next oil change sticker to give me a true indication of the miles travelled

Is it actually a cooper S :?: :? It has the Clubman styled door handles or is it a phase out too the Clubmans. If it is a genuine S than it's rather reasonably priced, 13k with 2 hours left  .

After consulting "The Mini Experience" it seems that those body and engine numbers correspond to the range for lift-up handles......

Just wait till the last minute......reckon a fair bit above 13k........

We'll see......said the blind man

Nice car. Doesn't need much work to get right. The only thing is the sunroof kills it for me. My guess is around 19k for final bid.

That is interesting John. How many miles on average would you say those ex government cars had actually traveled?
Dave

As I said : $19K so closest I reckon. Do I get the free Cooper S Mk2 prize?

PS wasn't me bidding!

Whats with that seller? They seem to have Cooper S's on ebay all the time or didn't these cars sell last time? Strange they don't know much about them and you have to speak to some mechanic. Oh well, good luck to the buyer.

just thought i would introduce myself.
i was the lucky bidder........... paid more than i wanted but thats the way it goes.
aparently the collection of cooper s belonged to the sellers father who left them to his family in his will i assume.
im out of the country at the moment but will do a detailed inspection at christmas.
will keep you posted on the restoration

I was told by a HP cop years ago that they each did around 40,000 miles.

Be good if you can make it to the big day out in November wolfmini and see plenty of minis in all stages of repair. Not sure if you have been to one before but it would be worth the drive down from Shep. Welcome to ausmini too. Cheers.
