I`ve just bought a full set of (Front & rear) Coil-over Gaz adjustables,,, I`ve heard good things about them & thought i`d give them a try,,, i`m fitting them to my hillclimb special , i`ll let you all know what i think of them after a few meetings playing with them :-)

I like Koni Yellows for general competition use, & yes takes a little time setting them up, but once done they`re a dam good shock,,, I`ve always had trouble trying to get Spax shocks soft enough ,,, they`re a bit harsh in all the cars i`ve driven with them fitted

I`ve only driven & played with one mini with Bilstiens fitted & was quietly impressed, i`d need more time with them to make a decent educated statement about their quality tho,,, maybe i`ll buy a set of those for the Monaco & have a play then ??? :-)

I`ve driven & set up many other minis with many many other types of shocks & found (what i believe) to be the best "compromise" for road & light club race use & that is KYB "Gas-Adjust",,, they`re a great shock & very good value for money,,, But pure race work i`d have to say Konis at theis stage,,,, but maybe i`ll reserve anymore comments till i`ve sorted the Gaz & Bilstiens.

they are plenty more brands out there tho & some are pretty good,,, some are no so consistant (even between shocks from the same batch of the same brand) so it`s all a bit of a gamble is a sense,,, some shocks you get are great & some of that very same brand can be crap,,, stick with good name shocks BUT make sure you order what you "NEED"--> as in "Horses For Courses"""--> There really is no point or "NEED" to run full race shocks on the road,,, it`s quite detrimental for the vehicles handling doing that,,, & vice-versa trying to fit road shocks to a full race car,,, think before you spend your hard earned cash & put good money into the right items to suit your application
