I have my dream Mini; 1970 Mk 2. My better half coins it the Moneypit. For good reason. The car I bought looked great and was original. I have the history of all 6 owners although 4 of them were in the same family. When I got it I admit I thought it was A1. Not so long after I realised the poor thing had been through the wars. Full of rust and some seriously big shunts. When the paint was stripped off I was advised by some sober types to get a new body and re-birth it. Tempting. But here is the thing, these little things are getting rarer and rarer. I reckon if I am dumb enuf and have the dough, I am gonna re-build the original car and keep it on the road. I started in this forum as a newbie and have really appreciated all the amazing and expert knowledge, honest. My car, the Cooper, is now 20 months into a re-build I did not anticipate. Shiteloads of money, anxious moments with the better half over the cost and it won't see bitumen until early March. I have a car that ain't going anywhere but to my kids. I drove this thing 20 kms before the re-build started and ain't got a regret in the world.

2001 rover sportpac 500 cooper for a daily drive

PLUS some mental road warrior for the weekend, many examples stated probably not turbo'd either just big or supercharged, bmw/KAD head would be fun.

ain't no such thing is there - they stopped in Octoper 2000 -

like Feral, I'm lucky enough to have both of my dream minis, a MK2 S, and a traveller - but that sprint is the sexiest mini n the world - I've even had a ride in it 8)

The VTEC powered Traveller I'm currently building. For an all round good package, power, brakes, space in the back to haul a few things or my dog, reliability etc.

My second dream Mini will be the Hayabusa powered mid-engine rear wheel drive saloon I plan to build next.

And third, I'd like to build a Ute with some future power plant that has not come out yet. The way the world is now switching to smaller carsI figure there will to be plenty of new excellent lumps coming out in the near future that will fit nicely in a Mini. I want to keep it FWD because I don't want to loose the functionality of the box. Or if I can fit a small awd system underneath I would like that too.

electric motor on each wheel, with a lightweight and ultra small renewable energy power source?
