I think any lighting improvement to a mini is an excelent idea but the department of transport doesn't think so. So if anyone has LED lights, and your car is being inspected, put in normal globes cos theyre probably not ADR approved, an inspector whos had a bad day could make yours worse.

Fair enough comment Tombo but enclosed light like the front parker/indicators are hardly going to attract close attention unless they don't work - afterall they don't check them in the dark do they which is when they really have to perform

that's true, but when some silly bimbo crashes into you, and even though you had your indicator on she swears you didn't then they check your indicators and find non-ADR approved globes..... guess who would be in the crapper.... though I bet I could argue my way around that and say my car is pre-ADR anyway

so Simon, when you've got them made, can I have a pair :D

I like the idea, I'll need two set's Simon. You may have to increase the fuse size. I found I was blowing the fuse when I connected my new trailer which had LCD lights.

I Think the ADRs only applies to lenses and not the actual Bulb type. As long as the wattage is an equivalent to 21Watts for indicators and Stop lights and 5 Watts for tail lights and parkers..

nah, that's just because you had extra load, and probably poor connections - LEDs use a lot less current than normal globes

hey look great Simon , simple question though , do LED's need to be set a certain way for the polarity of the power or are they like a regular bulb which will work with an alternator or a generator ?
