Rob , what are you doing for the fan belt to power the alternator, do you have a shorter belt

Yep shorter belt, and to re: flange questions just use a water pump and take off the impeller.
You're better off trying to get one of the older EWP controllers (pot-type) rather than the digital one IMHO, although a status light would be nice (but distracting) - the EWP pulses on/off until it reaches it's set temperature then it goes on full (constant 12V).

Thank you guys

I am thinking about putting one on the Fang, a ates race Mini that we are building with Twinky head and one for my daily. I would like to fit one to mine first so see what the difference over a std pump in most road conditions and what I wanted to know was has anyone done this ? Is this worth while ? and at what cost ? and finaly if I was to mount the rad to the inner guard and run a thermo fan could I put the elec. pump { with suitable mounting brackets } where the old pump was or is it too big size wise ?

I think that a high temperature light would be a good idea with an electric pump. Just to bring the gauge to your attention if it gets hot suddenly.

I would still run the two temp gauges that I have in the Mini

Did you know that an "A" series engine runs 30 deg C hotter at no 4 than at no 1 .......

I've got one on my little Imp-powered Bolwell and it was a worthwhile improvement, but not the only answer. Mine is rear engined like your Fang and could never get enough air through the radiator. An aluminium radiator helped a bit, as did a thermo fan, the EWP and finally a supplemental radiator in the nose. I like the fact that the EWP will keep running with the engine off, especially good after a few runs at Rob Roy in February heat. It will circulate the coolant at a constant speed regardless of engine speed. That is really good for idling along in stop start traffic (along with the alloy radiator and thermo fan). The supplemental radiator (old heater core I think) works a treat when I'm on the move and the EWP has enough power to push the coolant an extra 6 metres, or probably four times the original length of the cooling system.

Yeah that's why it's good to use the #4 cyl head heater tap to improve coolant flow there.
BTW the electric water pump is massive, there's no way it will fit where the stock pump is.

Again, getting air through the radiator and out of the engine bay is the biggest challenge the mini has to deal with - especially on high output 80+ bhp engines.
