really? thats all i do, just get a phillips head (found it pierces it much better) and put it past half way down the filter to avoid the thread or anything else that could get in the way. Next time im getting a k&n oil and air filter for the mini though, and they have a fitting on the bottom of them so you can get at em with a ratchet or spanner
