Thanks for all the info I think I will put in a 2.95 diff All i wanted was a lower rev on highway as 90% or my driving is highway.

The Mini Mania reverse posts is a setting in your profile, default is that stupid reverse way, when you log in IF you have told it to do so it will put things the way they were intended 8)

2.9 diff apparently is rare as rocking horse dodo... :cry:

To change the diff I think you generally have to take out the engine and gearbox and remove the diff housing from the back of the gearbox. :( Could be wrong here

Just for a complete sidestep on this thread , how strong are the morris 1500 ohc 5 speed boxes , I know of a couple of people who had fitted them into rod change mini gearbox housings in the 70's with some moderate to high machining . One was using a fairly serious 1275 but the car was crashed after a few thousand miles so don't know how it would have lasted . Any ideas on these boxes use , well , the gearsets anyway ?
