1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Remove the radio / CD player or whatever is in there.
3. Remove outer rings from air vents (they unscrew), then remove the air vent and tubey hosey things behind it.
4. Remove the black thing infront of the AC fan assembly, all fasteners are visable.
5. Remove the three nuts holding the dash brackets to the body. Left and right side ones are accessed from underneath the dash rail, the middle one is in the hole where the radio sat.
6. Pull the dash forward. I found the brackets still hold because the swaged studs are still poked in the holes. Just push them up. Don't pull it completely out.
7. Disconnect speedo cable.
8. Disconnect the electrical plugs from the gauge cluster.
9. Disconnect the SRS and the seatbelt light.
10. Remove the dash.

If you need photos I'll see what I can dig up. Good luck!
:D

Well, a crowbar will bypass steps one to six, but the question was how is it removed without damaging anything.

They cost between 13 and 30 bucks for the flash flashers, but a standard flasher is fine.

My Sister must have been flashed at by a standard flasher when she was younger, as he didn't charge her anything

Leave the bastard in there, wire a new one in under the dash like a PROPER Mini has. 8)
Old Rover cars were hard to work on, I see they have maintained this feature with the Rover Mini... :P

hi all.

good news. we started taking the dash apart this morning to find the flasher unit... had the stereo out etc.

Hubby had an idea just to look beneath the steering wheel for something and guess what he found? the flasher unit!!!
Turns out someone must have had the idea to put it somewhere "handy" (as sugested by Drmini and co.)

so we off to supercrap this morning to get a new one... fingers crossed it works.

thanks again for all your help.

Deb :D

Now I bet all the Rover Mini owners have turned their indicators on and tried to find the flasher can, so where did you find yours, mine is just under the steering wheel and easy to get hold of.
