Set it so when you are just gently touching the pedal the brake lights illuminate therefore there is less chace of finding out by accident .....like Mick said.

This happened to the brake switch on the motorbike.

There is nothing which will cause your sphincter to pucker quite as tight as the sound of a light truck locking it's wheels up behind your bike as you slow down for stopped traffic

I got 3 months out of one new hydraulic switch, and 3 weeks out of its replacement.

and 30 years from the original :!:

Nah it was a good one, I got 36 years. :D
Then after I failed the 2 new ones, I pulled an old S/H one from a wrecked Clubby, even that lasted me well over a year.
That was it, Clubby mechanical switch time.

heres mine.. sorry its a crap pic, all it takes is a 90 degree angle bracket that you can actually buy from bunnings.. two 8mm bolts and a holden commodore (i think) brake switch... easy to fit.. except for drilling the holes.. if you could weld the bracket on it would be better.. hardest part is setting up the distance which takes about 30 seconds lol

Well, I put mine on, easy conversion, ran the wires from the pressure switch straight up and joined up new wires to extend back through the instrument panel hole and to the switch. Works great. Thanks for the advice Dr Mini, very happy with it. PS: don't worry about loose wire on connector, I re did it.
