Hi Dave,The dynamos (generators) were the same, it was the pulley that differed. I'm figuring the S pulley was 3-5/8" or 3-7/8" but hopefully someone will be able to have a measure-up.

Originally there were two types of pulley, One for 850 - 997 & 998, Original Part Number was 12A34 which superseded to a cast iron pulley AYG 9029 The other pulley was for the 1275 Original part number 12A34

I found a 3-7/8" pulley last night and when I cleaned it up, it has some ID on the pot metal hub. MOWOG and AB2, under that is 2A138. I am wondering if it is correct as John's message quoted appears to quote the 850 part number (12A134) twice.

If anyone can provide further sizes and part numbers, I appreciate it as we have only had one person measure their pulley. We need more to confirm anything.

Al

I think there is a typo in John's post.
The later cast std Mini pulley (on my `68 998) is just under 3.2" on the OD.

The numbers on the parts are rarely the actual part numbers.

The BMC book lists the 1275 pulley as 1H998.

When you google 1H998 there are links to Sprite and Morris Oxford sites.

Hi guys,
An NOS pulley has been located and measured at 3-5/8" and is common to Morris Oxford / Austin Cambridge cars. It carries the part number 1H998 and is correct for all Mk1 Coopers. Don't be fooled by the part number 1H1000 on the hub, it is referring to the hub part number, not the complete pulley.

Regards
Al
