Location: North of the Harbour planning my next mini project
I have had my Cooper S calipers painted with black 2pac and it has lasted over 10 years and numerous supersprints. Another alternative is the caliper paints which are in a spray can. I have used this on my HSV disks with OK results.

I had to get a replacement S caliper years ago and it was a genuine BMC part and it came plated. Made the original still on the car look crap.

I can easily understand them being plated as a spare part, it would certainly keep them in good condition in their packaging for a lot of years in questionable storage areas.

I've never even seen the remnants of plating on old discs, you would think some would remain beneath the caliper halves when you take them apart at least...
