Bad luck, and frustrating. Can you show some pics of the oil pump please. What sort is it? BTW, how many bolts are you using to secure the pump to the block?
It is just the STD replacement “OIL PUMP 1000CC A PLUS SLOT DRIVE”. I have been using the 3 bolts so per STD.
Here is a some pic of the pump that has been in there.
This is a completely STD pump as it left the Rover factory.
After last time (on Saturday

) we made a plate like the auto to manaule adapters but only 1.6mm thick, to help it seal. It looks like it was sealing.
With my oil cooler filed with oil and a gauge in the banjo bolt I blow compressed air throw the cooler, there was no leaks i could see or hear until it got to about 65PSI then the relief valve would open. The motor is out again and this test was done with just the built up block with no gearbox so i could see everything.
It’s starting to do my head in

, with the banjo bolt sealed off so I could see how much pressure the pump could deliver with no flow (because it should just get to relief pressure then stay there?) It was only getting 45-50PSI. so less the the relief pressure. There was a bit of slimy dirty stuff on the pickup but not much, and with that oil line disconnected there was heaps of flow under no pressure.
Thanks again Nathan.
PS I hope its something really dumb and simple coursing this
