I had something similar in high school, sliced my palm open on a broken fence and didn't feel anything except the drip, drip, drip of the blood running down my fingers... until I saw it, that is

was using the grinder with a twisted knot wire wheel attachment and it caught itself on a corner in the boot and flung the grinder towards my hand. ended up with a bit of wire through my finger just above the nail. went through one side and was poking at the other side  no blood or anything but it looked cool. doctor took it out that evening and didnt even need a tetnis shot woo! though i prolly should get one with the amount of cuts and scrapes working on the mini

Just like a good burn , was welding a new floor into a suzuki 4wd (I've had more injuries with non mini's than with mini's  ) , put the oxy torch in my left hand and grabbed the hammer to "delicately shape it to the inner sills profile and thought I'd run the top of my index finger across the hose . Then I smelt burnt flesh and looked at my poor finger .... I swear the torch flame felt solid , just like an oxy hose , as it went across the back of my finger .

I've got sunburn from welding a heap of stuff in a seated position wearing T shirt and shorts. Sun burn right up the inner thighs isn't good when you need to walk  or when you finish using the wire wheel and realize you have a heap of inch long wires sticking out of your legs.

don't ask how i know

You were welding in your polyethylene underwear again weren't you ....
no  , once i was cutting a steel tube (i've once learned plumber) and never thought "heavy work wear" trousers could burn, but a leg did.
and a no-brain-just-grind-that-spot-welds-away and have some cool looking ventilation holes burned into my pullover ....

I've been remarkably lucky, like a wire cup in angle grinders catching on my top then winding itself up and stalling, centimetres from my chest. Circular saw kicking back and taking the top 2mm of my thumbnail off.

But i usually wear protective eyewear and always earmuffs - as I get older I think my ears have become more sensitive. And having a brother who's an eye surgeon makes eye injuries 'top of mind' when working in the 'shop.

Do you know how small a T-shirt can get while wearing it after catching a wire cup wheel mounted on a 5" grinder?
It was a sight to see, thats for sure!
Almost took out the right side of my head once when grinding back some ally tig weld that I had done with a tungsten tip blade mounted on the trusty 5". (again with the 5".)
My arse didnt stop clenching for a week after that one. It caught the weld a little too deep and flicked the grinder over my right shoulder missing the side of my head by about an inch!

It is IMPOSSIBLE to remove the pins from the old style piston pins from the conrods in my 998cc, the ones don't have circlips and have been heated to fit in.

Spent 3hrs in rage trying to remove then then ended up with the angle grinder to cut then piston is half, even then the pin won't budge.

Found out new conrods is the way to go.

If it was heated to be pressed in, it'll need to be heated to press it back out again ;)

I tried heating it to smack the pin out as well, no luck :(

Link did the work on the block for me and provided the new pistons, the new pins on the pistons are smaller in diameter anyway, so I called and he is looking for a set of 4 conrods that use the circlip pistons.

Would of saved me 3hrs of cursing knowing this before hand though lol.

Almost had a nasty encouter with the angle grinder in the process
