The Cobra Seats are good but for goodness sake, DON'T spend your money with Mini Sport, get them from Huddersfield.

In any impact big enough to give you substantial whiplash, high-back Mini seats aren't going to give you much in the way of protection either -- they break and fold back.

If crash protection is on your agenda, find something stronger...

Any opinions on the "tombstone" style original seats? I have some sitting on a shelf while I rebuild, wondering whether to keep them...

I have them in my car. I told the auto-trimmer to raise the edges with foam to make them more of a bucket seat when he reupholstered them and they are rather good. Basically they have a little extra foam up the edges and it is harder as well but the center of the base and back are normal, not 100% ideal for a wider person but if your a skinny fella then it's perfect  .
Plus they don't need a mod plate to be legal :D
