Have used it in other applications but not in a car. Guessing it has to do with fitting and the glass being pushed into place from the locking strip side?

Is that the only reason though? Cause I always thought it would look better on the inside still lol.

Well, my key didn't fit, but we managed to get in via the passenger 1/4 vent window and then we hot wired it so at least it can now be driven to the locksmith! I was a little unsure of the hotwiring process so confirmed my moves with Sports850 via mobile up north so this was truly an Australia wide salvage job and all ended well!

Had Flute and Fat Boy Dave around yesterday with no luck (apart from working out how to break in to and hot wire my car). Hopefully one of Ian's keys fit...
The break in/hot wire job also meant I was able to move the car and avoid a fine this morning!

No your honour , I didn't have anything to do with hotwiring that vehicle in Melbourne , I was 2,000 klm's away in a Gold Coast Hotel room at the time

Success! Received keys from Ian today and one of them fits! I'll cut myself one (plus a copy to avoid this again...) and post them all back shortly! Oh, and a fuel cap key would be handy too...
Thanks heaps to everyone who helped out!

Carefully try a Mini key in the fuel cap. (and any other small keys like toolbox keys) you might get lucky as a lot of fuel caps will unlock with almost any key.

Thanks for the tip - same key opens the fuel cap!

Not as bad as the time I found my keys in a plastic bag full of lettuce in the fridge I guess!
