For what it's worth, Ramflo's were specified for the 1.5" SU's on MK II S's and Clubman GT's delivered to NSW Police back in the late 60's/early70's.

Actually , have ramflo changed the compound of their filter pad ? I used to have (about 5 years ago) some from the 60's and they were still soft and flexible whereas ones I bought in the late 80's (and similar ones I've seen recently) crumble in a short time . Is it the compound of the filter sponge thingy changing or did fuels change that much ?

I reckon it's their filter foam is crap now. Fit a Unifilter LNX300 pad in there. About $9, cheap as.

Doc, I know that Unifilter do custom filters, but are you saying they do off the shelf filters too? Who sells them, can you only buy them straight from Unifilter at Gosford? :)

thanks

Unifilter do foam pads to replace the Ramflo originals.
p/nos:
LNX300 (round SU)
LNX400 (oval Weber)
LNX600 (BIG oval Weber).

You can get direct from Unifilter at Gosford- www.uniflow.com.au
or most 4WD shops sell, or can get in.

Doc do these 'seal' where the foam meets the the chrome plate or do these 'leak' dust like the original ramflos?

They leak. That is why the doc uses and recommends them. 8)

I've never had a problem with the Unifilter foams if you are careful with assembly. Yes they seal better than the originals.
They sure catch heaps of stuff, that would otherwise go straight into the engine with NO filter.
With a Weber/Dellorto 45 on a Redline 3005 manifold and no Weber box (road car), filter options are few. I find it works fine for me. But hey, I don't go offroad...

Thanks Doc. Yes, off the shelf pickings are very slim, without body modifications. :(

Ditto for the 45 Weber I have.

I ordered the foam and the oil direct from unifilter...

cheers
