id probally go the yokahama A008 as iv heard they are good but im yet to try

Tyre shake at 100 means out of round or lumpy tyres. Tyre shake at 80 is a balance problem. Run your hand around the treads and I bet you can feel it. Australian Bridgestones were notorius for it but that was a long time ago. More likely to be the retreads.

Are they a stock tyre in Oz or did you import them? BTW what tread pattern do they use, I have never heard of them.

Bridgestone 226's on mine. In 145 r12 form on my stocko steel 12" 1275 LS rims. It had 3 of them and a Michelin when I got it. The fronts were getting low when I got it, and the Michelin eventually wore out. Seeing as I had 226's on the back, and that they weren't an expensive tyre, I put 2 new ones on the front.

Handles orite I spose, only 145's. I'd love to put 12" superlites with the Yoko A539's in 165 r12, but trying to save for my current project, so i'll put up with the 145's on stocko rims for my daily driver.

i'm about to buy some new falken 12 inch FK-06G tyres..
prices range from $115-125 fitted, quite hard to get a hold of too.

from what i've read the yoko's seem to wear too quickly, and theres not much info on the sime tyres which are about $90 a tyre

Rule of thumb numer 1-

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!

I had the 12" FK-O6G's on mine, and they spin-up pretty easy. Next time round was the Yokie A539's. It has somewhat ruined then fun a bit. They are almost a little too grippy. It doesn't slide around anymore. It bogs down if you don't launch it right, and it finds it hard to spin 'em, but they have excellent wet grip. The Falkens were shockers.

On my 'other' mini i have Yokie A-008R Advan's.(10 inch) Sticky in the dry, but Slippery when wet!

Or maybe i just think about tyres too much...

If you can get abything with Michelin written on them, they are simply fantastic.Pity they don't make their Pilot Sport range in our sizes. I had some 30 year old 'XZX'ones on my Capri, and they were stickier than the new replacement Bridgestones.

I have Falkens.
Theyre freakin beauties!
So much slipperiness fun in the wet its like a dog on lino.
They grip a fair bit but not much with torque.
Nigel has evidence, i can get rather a lot of wheelspin in second even in the driest of conditions.
Ahh... handbrakies they sound like a dog howling - and don't even leave a mark.
Yeah wheelspin is crazy with the Falkens.

Wear is excellent tho.
I've hammered the piss outta these Falkens and theyre the longest lasting tyres i've ever had.
Unlike the "50cent" Bridgies 226s i had. Stewie knows bout these... the "handbrakie tyres" :D

why are the falkens crap in the wet though? the FK-06G are an agressive directional tread!

its a toss up between performance and tyre life..
i'm leaning towards tyre life, especially as money is and always has been tight..

The tread compound is crap, falkens really suck in the rain :(

I wish they didn't last so long! means i can't replace them with A539's 8)

Performance:
10" - Go A008's
12" - Go A539's

Budget, doesn't really matter what you go...:
10" - Falken's or Bridgestones..james's snow tires...whatever :)
12" - Falkens..etc

heh you're not making this easier on me

the falkens look really good, they give good grip, but wheelspin easily and are a bit slidey around roundabouts.. certainly not a bad tyre, and offer fantastic durability.

the yoko's are $140 a tyre right?
i need performance for cruises/track excursions etc, but durability for everyday use.
