Simple... If your brain hurt stop reading

Agree: This is the Chat section... So chat; if you can't understand move on to another thread!

I once had a similar incident with drive shafts... The retaining bolt that holds the outer CV into the bearing came loose and fell off... Big bang and no brakes/drive soooo scarey!
Sadly I have no brothers who would know which end of a screw driver to hold...
Spent 4 hours on the side of the road waiting for an RAC lorry (Sorry that's truck in Australian!)... Oh and this was the middle of winter in the UK so I was frozen...

Happy Mini days...

The only time I let my brother (who is a very clever chemical engineer) near my tools was when I was fixing an oil leak on his Metro: Time to change the timing chain oil seal without help; half an hour, time with help; 4 hours...

(BTW I think I have all punctuation spelling and capitalisations correct but feel free to correct if you want too!)

Its not rocket science to add punctuation; it makes it a lot easier to read. If more people can understand what you’re trying to convey then you will have a lot better chance of getting help. IMO.

Which is the point, This is not a technical thread, no asking for help, it's chat...

I agree if you need help with something then you need to be clear and consice, both to ensure you get the right answer to the right question, but also out of respect to those whose knowledge and time you are calling on. Thats when you need to proof read before you post.

How quickly this thread turned from some guy having a win after breaking down into something completely irrelevant, I understood quite well what was written. Possibly we could open a proofreading forum and those with only the time to comment on punctuation and gramma could oversee it.

Thanks Sports and others

I think the question was resonably well understood, GT mowog, fanging, fiji and others understood it... its not hard.

I mean some people just cannot spell for one reason or another. Why cant we just overlook the grammer and answer the question or comment something that isnt literacy related. If people actually read what was posted they might understand why.

Its just not good form that whenever "i got a mini" posts something it always reverts back to spelling and grammer, do a search an see how many have, its rediculous, he is part of the mini community and willing to learn and aks for help.. so we should help when we can.

As with other members who cant spell or ask supposedly "stupid" questions that should be general knowledge, we should be willing to help and if you cant contribute in a positive way move on.

I cant help him on his driveshafts as i dont know much about it. But last i heard he was going to take it over to warick agustins to have a look at and fix it for him (real top bloke).

I am sorry if I offended anyone. I think I actually defended him in another thread similar to this....

No offense dude, just attempting humor.

As for everyone getting butthurt in his defence you all should relax a little. Getting mad at teh internet is like peeing in a sea of pee.

bill.b, you should really read the posts more carefully. Sports850 has already explained why i got a mini has trouble with the spelling and grammar. So your post was just insulting him further. Whilst spelling etc is important (i'm a teacher) it is just not possible for some people to get it 100% right all the time. Time to be a little more accepting I think!

Keep on posting "i got a mini" you are doing great work and if you left you would be missed.

The circlip on the end of the driveshaft that goes inside the CV joint can be a pain. They can often look good but if worn can let the shaft fall out of the CV without warning.
I always fit a new circlip when I fit a new CV joint but if you can't get a new circlip just look for the best looking one in your spares.

Dude, seriously please work on your grammar and spelling. My brain hurts after reading one line of your post :?

It appears as though my post above has offended a few members on this forum,

"I Wanna Mini"
I have never met you and do not have any knowledge of your personal circumstances. I found your post very difficult to read as I stated. If you use a browser such as firefox, it runs a spell checker in the background that can assist you with your spelling. I am by no means a great speller either but using firefox, I can check my posts. I mean you no disrespect.

Fiji,
Good to see you can contribute just as much as I to a thread with your insightful responses

Ryan,
No one expects 100% this forum is not a spelling bee.

I don't recall ever commenting on any of "I wanna Mini" posts before, surely someone will be happy to search and prove me wrong. I commented on this the same I would with any other members post written in the same light.

My little bro used to use Mozilla Firefox and it's pretty good.
It'll help with spelling, open multiple tabs in a window instead of opening multiple seperate
windows and filters viruses but if you have a dodgey internet conection it can be a bit slow.
We've got Windows 7 now and it does the same thing.
