Apparently they are not 3 day `brick' camels... :P

I had a Bronco canopy on one of my Mokes for many years, and thought it was great.

It will take a fair bit of sealing to ensure it doesn't leak in heavy rain, and you need to watch out for rust where it fits to the Moke body - using silicon is easy but not particularly good for the rust side of things. I'm sure there are better sealants for the job.

We never had any problem with the car getting too hot. We did modify the door hinges so the doors lifted off once they were open. Som canopies came with lift-off doors. The problem then s where to put them when you take them off, but it gives the option of almost open Moking, with security of doors you can put on and lock.

If worried about it getting hot there are a couple of things you can do to help it - though we never needed to do wither. I have seen some which have been completely lined inside with carpet, which keeps the noise level down and insulates a bit, and some have had the spinners that you get on dog trailers, etc on the roof to draw out hot air.

I prefer a soft top, but don't knock the fibreglass thing. Like I said, we thought it was great and travelled all over the place - from Melbourne to northern NSW - in our hardtop Moke. But, of course we always had a soft-top Moke sitting in the garage as well.

Cheers,
Watto.
