I am not sure what it should have.
I would almost bet that they started production with a UK panel and then changed to an Australian stamped panel. But when or if they changed I don't know.

But then again they may have started with an Australian panel from the start. :?

My S has had a speaker hole cut with an axe. :cry:

The BMC body repair guide gives the following part numbers for the panel...
850 = 14A6564 (diagram shows two holes)
Deluxe = HYA1765 (Australian made panel part number)
Cooper S =HYA1765.

Thanks Morris...

I just received a reply from a buddy on another forum who also has a 66 Morris Cooper S and his shelf only has one hole. I asked if he could post a picture.

What is it with axes and speaker holes anyway? Most of the speaker holes look like a soup can opened with a hunting knife. :)

I guess 40 odd years ago no one really cared - like out sight out of mind.
Had those butchers known these cars would one day be worth $20-$30 gorillas perhaps they would have treated those parcel shelves with a bit more god-damn respect :lol:

got a '67 deluxe with one hole, off centre on drivers side. Plus lots of small holes (about 20) on passangers side just off centre giving the appearance of a cheese grater. :D
