Why does everyone always want to leave the backplates off?

I leave mine off for better cooling... they aren't exactly scooped out to pull frontal air in, are they.

Maybe they fitted them to keep the leaking engine oil off the rotors? 8)

I recently (3 weeks ago) I bought a Disc Brake set from Josh at Mini Imports. Service was great, price extremely competitive (plus I like to support the local guys) and the kit was complete and easy to fit.

The brakes fit well under my 10 inch mini lites and, coupled with the new rear brake shoes and new slave cylinders, they are working really well. The more they bed in the better they are getting and after a few emergency brake stops for practice I feel way more confident that I can stop in a hurry if I need to.

I would definitely recommend this kit. The only extras I needed was some extra shims for the ball joints to get the correct gap. They were pretty easy to fit and are working great.

Common problem with new ball joints. NEVER turf your old shims!
