A typical replacement kit

http://www.minispares-online.co.uk/?cat_id=9&sub_cat_id=65&prod_id=2096

as they said in the forum beware kits that have a square top plate (like the Huddersfield one) as the wall thickness at its thinnest point may not be all that great.

please note i don't know about that particular kit.

keith calver. all sorts of info on suspension setup and other topics
http://www.calverst.com/cc110f.htm

you could also go so uprated cones

http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=38124&title=CONE

a lot of people are pretty happy with the minitastic ones

http://www.minitastic.co.uk/home1.htm

that should at least give you something to think about :D

in case you cant tell i'm procrastinating

I would never bother, and it is no way an economical upgrade. Just replace the squashed cones with good second hand ones, fit hilo's, make sure everything else is in good condition and buy the best shocks you can afford, with GAZ being the best. Put a front camber kit on if budget allows.

It will handle brilliantly.

While Im asking silly questions, Im wanting to upgrade the rear brakes.
Im thinking twin leading shoe, did any Aussie model come out with these?

Not rear. You don't need to upgrade the rear brakes at all. Again, make sure everything is in good condition. Make sure your rear cylinders match the front brakes (discs up front should have different cylinders at the back).

The only thing you could do is get some minifin brake drums.

poeee's right, the most efficient braking you can possibly have is the kind where there is absolutely no weight on the rear (endo) and the rear of the car actually lifts off the ground. so put simply its much easier to lock the rear wheels.

this is why when you fit disks 850 cylinders are put on the rear to send more brake bias to the front.

this is especially true on a front wheel drive car as there is no power going to the rear wheels at all.

think about what happens when you pull the front brake on a motor bike.

technically i supposed you could mod a front brake plate? not sure on this ?

does anybody have anymore pictures of these high-lows and coil systems, particularly the universal joint end, or any pictures during/completed installation.
