My only tip that I can give is to stick some tape on the door before you drill the holes. It will stop the drill from wandering.

with the window all the way up, there is plenty of room to move, so that shouldnt be a problem, that was the first thing I thought of also...

I'd check that Davo, from memory rover glass is 3 inches below the bailey channel when the window is fully up. If you're drilling near there be careful.

I have yet to sit in a mini with bullet mirrors that work.

Thanks to the previous owners of my car I now have 6 holes that need welding. I don't have side mirrors, I look instead.

When the guy painted mine last year he was supposed to fill all the holes.
He didn't bother... :x
So I positioned the new Tex (non-bullet) mirror to cover them all except the front one, it got a SS screw to plug it up.

Before I fitted the Tex CZH3521 plinth-

I can see a small portion of whats beside/behind me, out of my driver's side mirror, but not enough to be confident without a decent head check. :?
Passenger side is just for looks.

Sometimes...only sometimes should form take precedence over function...

I think bullet mirrors make up one of these rare instances...
