"4AGE cooper" (I think) imported his unfinnished conversion over from UK and ran into these issues, but just managed to get it passed. Might be worth a PM. :wink:


He got his rego'd before bringing it over, and ran it past the licensing dept. here in WA first. If it hadn't been licensed in the UK prior, he would not have been allowed the increase in track width.


Ah, there you go. I remember talking to him about it a while back, and knew they didn't want to pass him, but he eventually got it through.

So to the OP: Tread with caution and your eyes wide open!

Aren't the rules more lenient when its been owned overseas for a certain period then imported, like when pommy immigrants bring it with them?

in short,
the car will be purchased and kept in the uk for 12months regoed in thier names and when they move back over so will the car or cars....

thinking about purchasing to vtec mini's and selling one.

you'd better go through all of the regulations with a fine toothed comb - or you could be very disappointed, and lose a fair slab of money

you may find there is a requirement to keep the car for a period of time after bringing it in, to stop people doing things like you

that said, my sister is in NZ, dad and I have been thinking of getting her to bring a car when she comes back, so I'm interested to see what you find out ;)
