Sorry, it was 87! I thought it may have been Graham Engal.

I don't think Mckay would have been seen driving in such a vulgar form of racing.
His book does not mention it.

Yes, Yes and Yes. The laser series lasted a pretty good number of years though.

And here's a chance to put another renault photo on the mini forum:

that is a fantastic photo - dad had a green 16 when I was little, electric windows!! - the day the end of my finger was mangled by the milking machine, he drove me into Ballarat at 100mph (so he said)

As far as what will replace the bini's. Well that would be suzuki swifts.

If your genuinely interested about them send me a message as they guys starting up the series are renting some of our workshop space to build the cars, so i know a lot about them. I could also get their number etc.

No... Swifts will be running with shannons nationals from what I've been told.. Not the big show.. C.C Australia will be the filler.. They had already taken the gp and clipsal off of us... What shits me is that in a series we invest over 100,000 dollars a year in.. When you all found out, is whn we did.. Infact last week we were negotiating our involvement and all was peachy and going ahead definately... What's also great is now it's utes or nothing with our budget.. There's no middle tear categories anymore :( unless I can find an extra 400 grand to think about fujitsu series or cc... I love motorsport :)

If there is nowhere to race them the price will tumble. It happens with every one make series.

So what is a Formula Ford drive worth these days?

I want BMW to buy ours back... Formula cantaffords.. At the front? For a year probs 250k... I don't really fit in them nor do I think open wheelers of being a good way to ready yourself for a heavy touring car

So may I ask (If its too personal than that is fine), where does this leave you Meeni, are you kind of in the lurch by the decision or do you have a plan?

Does this mean that BMW are kind of at the end of their focus on the MINI name?

The Managing Director of the Australian division resigned abruptly during a meeting in Germany during the week so I wonder if the two are related?

Currently looking at options, utes being a) the easiest to get sponsors for and b) the only v8 supercar follower that is within our current budget.. We've got alot of meetings in the next few weeks.. And a decision needs to be made soon so we can chase some cash.. It's going to be a hard couple of months but wel be in something, in the top circus in 2011

Practice your public speaking skills because you will be needing it to butter up the men with the cash.
Presentation and smooth talking are more important than driving skills to get money.
