The Minimans method is to slacken the front adjusted (both) right off to bleed the cylinders - I also read an article on how to bleed brakes and they suggested to open the adjusters to max then with drums off use a couple of clamps to squeeze the brake shoes and so squeezing the air out off the wheel cylinders - bleed then release the shoes- replace the drums and adjust

You can do this with just the wheel cylinders on the car. As long as fluid is gravity feeding to the cylinders.

When you close the bleeder, the pistons in the cylinders will move out. Once they are out, open the bleeder and push the pistons back in, then do the bleeder up and watch the pistons move back out as they fill up again.

It works better when its just a single cylinder setup though.

Good advise if you're not confident with the brakes.

I'm thinking that having asked the questions, you are interested in the replies and advice and want to master this yourself before heading out.

The brake system can be a puzzle - what parts and pieces do I have? are they new? are they in good used/serviceable condition? and so on.... I can't answer that. Maybe a local Mini owner with some knowledge could stop by.

Many times "no pedal" for a beginner is the simple result of pumping the brake pedal too fast...it must be done slowly to build pressure and held down until the bleed nipple is closed off...after you have assembled the appropriate bits.
