hehe.. i dont really see how im molesting the car..thought what i had in mind was pretty minimal actually. most of the original running gear would be used and anything i do can be easily reversed back to original....how much are these cars actually worth anyway ?

G'day Goose :)

Welcome to Ausmini. You'll find this to be a rather dynamic, interesting and helpful group of people. Seems like your fitting in already

Congrats on your purchase. I have a 1275LS too. Nice car. Part of what makes these cars so valuable in original condition to their owners is the fact that these were the last Aussie made minis... For me, thats what makes mine special.

You paid for the car. It's yours. You do what ever you like with it and get all the enjoyment you can out of it... I think what "erks" most of us fanatics about modifying these cars, is that all too often you see them butched to a point where it is difficult to restore them back to factory condition...

Personally, if it were my car and I wanted to modify it, I'd do just like you've suggested and not do anything to it that couldn't be easily reversed.

Best of luck with your project (which ever path you choose to go down) and I look forward to seeing you about the place :)

and nobody has commented on the "cage" part of his project yet........

Welcome Goose. Hope you enjoy your Mini. I have a 77 S which is basically stripped and waiting for me to pull my finger out.

Cheers,

Dicko

Welcome to the forum Goose

Like most Clubby owners, you will eventually see the light and join the round-nose brigade and enjoy the benefits of a remote change gear box.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
