Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

Just a couple of questions, which cars originally had the amber indicator lens's? ?

All UK built cars had amber lenses as they were blinkers only. Parkers were in the headlights.

Oh wow, I didnt realise they had parkers in the headlamps. So were they still a sealed halogen lamp but with an extra filament?

No, the sealed beams had a little round window in the reflector and the parkers: sidelights we call em! Were on a plastic bracket from the headlight connector block and positioned to shine through!

I think the later Rovers are the same?

I wonder if they stopped driving it at 48999 delierately :D
Just one more mile, or perhaps even a few yards would have tripped it.

The odometers were a little weak and would usually fail at some point when a significant number of tumblers had to turn. I'd be willing to bet the odometer isn't working.

If you look closely many Aussie Minis and other cars have ended up with the sealed beam headlights with the (un-used) clear spots in the reflector.

Yeah I run Wipac Quadoptics that have this- if I had the parking light fittings I'd use them, and then fit orange blinkers.
Just to be different...

Still at St George steering he did a brilliant wheel alignment on the sports 850 about a month ago , if you need a wheel alignment make an appointment and go and see him but don't try to bullshirt him what he still knows about them is more than you will ever think you know !!
