+1 on the Mini Community. lol it doesn't matter if you know each person but there's automatically that underlying respect for one another. We're all out to enjoy one of the worlds greatest cars

Nice Job... The world needs more like you..

I broke a throttle cable when I was 18 and didn't have friends like you to fix it for me. I had to rely on ingenuity. All i had was a flat head screw driver. So I adjusted the idle up to around 3.5k and drove 20ks home on the idle. If you wanted to slow down you had to turn off the ignition... Did the job...

to be honest that's a really good idea mate,, hadan't thought of that.. but I have had the cable break on me once,, when I first got my licence at school, so I went to the teachers staff room at lunch and borrowed my geography teachers board string.. did the job

But I must say I hadan't thought of adjusting the idle.. then again I had a fair way to go so that would have been fun..

Arh the things you learn from others :) I love it.. :)

Another trick I've used a couple of times when the cable breaks at the carb end.. just snip a couple of inches off the cable outer (assuming it's still long enough ) and hook it back up again 8)
