Is the jewel you're speaking of a certain rhodesian mini?

Because that will be at wakefield, but not present on Sunday.

My mate who still does all the major work on my Clubby van (he is 71) has his late fathers spot on blue 850 locked up in the shed. His late father purchased it off
Delore Motors in Newcastle as a demonstrator in "1961" & it has every accessory
on it known to man.
When he died it was fitted with a 1275 and he and his sons raced "4" Minis in
spoodway---usually all painted red/white.
Hope he gets it back out one day--think it,s been stored for 5 years plus.

Wilks this car is far from original and yes sons did race at speedway but that car is not that early he had many minis and many mini parts when he passed away, and his favourite modification for speedway was a 1100 motor with 850head which is what is in that car , his shed had many good bits in it and wish he was still here top bloke,

Have a few pics of his cars at speedway also, his blue one was advertised after he passed away too which is a shame

No, Ivan didn't make it to Zetland. He said he worked through the night, and didn't finish work on the Austin 7 (1959 850) until 8.30am.

His words were something like "Was exhausted to the point I couldn't stand, let alone trailer it to Zetland".

And RE: Wakefield.

Ivan took his 970 Cooper, which he won the 1969 Rhodesian Rally in.
He's owned the car ever since he won the race, and recently restored it to it's former glory.

Ivan and the 970 @wakefield:
