To bring up an old topic, I have not tried driving my mini on city link yet, but was just opening an account for my other car and decided to add my leyland mini to the list...

Guess what?? A Leyland mini is considered a light commercial vehicle!! And gets charged extra because of that!!

Yes mine is a van, but on the scroll down menus you don't get a choice unless you specify other.

Yes.
Everyone knows a commodore or falcon ute owner never uses it for transporting stuff.

There does seem to be something about Minis - we have two e-tags and 4 cars registered to use them. We're always forgetting to move the e-tag into the other car but very rarely get a manual processing of the Minis - about 9 out of 10 trips in our Minis without a tag seem to get through for free, but they do pick some up though (no fines though as they are registered with Citylink, but get a manual processing fee)

Jan aka Mutant_Mini's husband has been pulled over on Citylink and fined for having an obscured front plate - yet it was in the factory location for his mid-90's SPi Mini and had been ADR approved on import!

I'd like to see them try that on me - I'd fight it!

Yep they got me - $110 plus 3 demerit points for "Number Plate not Vertical"  (Even though the Regulations only say that it has to be parallel to the axle - and seeing as its below the level of the axel it should lean so as to be "parallel")

Tried several avenues and just about got writers cramp trying to get out of it. You would think that a 30 year driving record of only one speeding fine should count for something - but it seems that in this type of "offence" it's up to the Officer issuing the on-the-spot penalty notice to decide on the penalty as he has the discretion to apply a penalty to suit the specifics of the actual offence as he sees them

Have got my rego sticker on the passenger side flip window which fits in the registration rules in victoria, and my number plate in the normal position. Due to the fact they cant read my rego label they are unable to book me. Unfortunately i am too honest and generally buy a day pass but they times I havent bought one i havent been booked "yet"
