Sorry David it has come to this.
Everything you wrote made my head spin. And occasionally I would get a grasp on what you were explaining.
Hopefully some time in the future you'll be back.
I wish you well, we know that you have challenges with your dad's health and inlaws health so I think of you as you face these difficulties.
Ausmini could have have offered you some respite from these....but not so.

Phat....don't feel bad. I did not see the thread but I'm yet to see you put down anybody......You are a fine teacher, you write well.

What is sorely missing from some members of ausmini is an acceptance of other peoples sense of humour and an open mind to their manner of expressing themselves.

That is a real shame. David was clearly one of the most knowledgeable people to spend time on here and contribute his skills and experience. I certainly valued his input and he helped me a number of times.

I hope he returns someday so the rest of us can learn some more from him.

I have just been in touch with David.

He says that having his post pulled was the final straw, on top of the 10 000 already stacked there by a particular member, who has been 'pushing his buttons' here for the past couple of weeks is probably the main reason for his leaving.

Saddly for ausmini, the damage is done, he won't be back.

That was done in my original posting on this, but it was mod edited.

I only suggest that you take that up with the mods.

Understood. I think I'll clear out for a few days. It's getting a little hard to be "objective".

Sorry for the trouble Gaf

Not baiting, just a put up or shut up call. Fair enough? Look at the threads making claims of 'someone' well who is that someone? That is all I asked.

Those Mods that delete or edit threads should have the balls to own up and put their name to such actions too. True? Be responsible for your actions like we are.

Mr Moderator cull me if you need.

Technical errors by all means, but when you're arguing with idiots, entering into a discussion on every inane post that is made is a waste of my (and our) time. If you make a post which has obviously been designed to inflame an argument (and maybe not so much the post in question) then don't expect us to spend much time drafting a 1000 word PM and then respond to the endless replies. It just makes me cranky, and I'm more prone to growling at my kids for no real reason. So deal with it.

To the people involved, they know what they done, and if they paid for the privilege of pissing people off, then yes they would have a claim to the ownership of the written word. I could paste it into an email and they could file it away in the irritable old fart file somewhere on their computer.

As for the alloy vs iron debacle, if it actually affected the rank and file mini membership as to the chemical, molecular and thermal qualities of their 998 cast iron engine, then yes it would be relevant. But don't pretend it wasn't just another useless chest beating exercise that seems to go on around here on a too regular basis. It goes back to what was said earlier. If I clicked onto this forum and saw that thread, and then the previous two threads, and then some random post calling someone an arsehole, then I would just keep going. I mean, where's the dignity in it?
Keep at it guys and what we will be left with around here is too very large chiefs comparing penis size, and no Indians.

this is a real shame, alas some of the other members, i met david on ausmini and have spent hours and days talking to him and tinkering in his sheds.

davids mini knowledge and general engineering knowledge is second to none.

everything he does he can give you a reason for.
every question you ask he can give a solution, and a reason for the solution.
you need to know how something works , he can explain to you every step taht make s it work and why it has to do the task in question.

very big loss to ausmini, hopwfully he comes back, becaus ehis projects amaze me.
