Yeah, I know I'm not Brenton. No GT I've ever had had an external reg for the Alternator, so yeah, I was a bit surprised to see it in some of those ^^. I've had from August 71 through to December 72 models.

<EDIT> Well for what ever it's worth, the external reg alternator and reg is listed in the parts book.

Same Here. There is no provision in my wiring loom for the external reg, although there is provision for it as the threaded holes are there.

Early Gt's had the external regulators (8TR). Mine is an 11/72 and I also have a 12/71 and neither came with the regulators- Both had 15AC internally regulated alternators originally.

Im not sure of the changeover date, But all GT's had the provision for one (except maybe the very very last ones =like 12/72,1/73 complied ones. I soughta vaguly think i heard something about these may have been a little different -ie with the hole on either side(like crumple zones i think)- could be wrong on that one though - just think i saw a picture of one with the holes)
