Yep, an NZ delivered car. Has the original plates as Morris has scoped. Was a quick trip over the weekend and now to get it landed.

Got to say that the fotos do not do the car justice; it is immaculate and revs so sweetly. We now have a mate for Moneypit!

Yeah, know it well enough and have some pics taken in the last few years too. Someone else I know has bought the 1275 he was selling too. Murray would have told you the other 970S that the first owners brother owned is in Christcurch too, consecutive rego numbers.

Regards
Al

Very nice, it even appears to have an original speedwell accelerater pedal.
I'm green with envy...

Al,

That 1275 was a very sweet car too and yae, it's about to leave for a new owner.

Murray told me about the other 970S and the plates. He is a wealth of history on the cars.
We did promise him the car was going to a good home and would have a garage mate with our current Mk.2 S.

Great guy.

bam.

Hi Bam,
I sent you some pics via the e-mail function on here. Did you see them?

Murray is a genuine guy and that is a pretty genuine car. You should probably get in touch with James Robinson who owns the other one. He will have quite a bit of info on your car. Do you have his e-mail address?

Regards
Al

OK, got all the docs now.

The original delivery papers say that it came with:

- fresh air heater
- Extra fuel tank
- Oil cooler
- 4.5 inch wheels
- Laminated windscreen
- Sump guard (now missing)
- Rubber cone suspension.

Would love to know what the original sump guard looks like. Anyone got a clue or a lead for me?

Hi B,
My car has a BMC sump guard as shown in the parts book. However, I can't say what was fitted to your car as there were several works ones too. The BMC one requires 3 x holes under the bottom face of the front subframe crossmember and two either side, just behind the track-rod bracket. If your car still has the original subframe, the holes should be there. I could take some pics if you need them.

Regards
Al

The BMC one is shown in the brochure at the end of this thread. I think there are some pictures of the actual item somewhere on here. If no-one posts pictures I'll upload some later tonight.

If you are going to the Minis in Oz show on Sunday have a look at the original sump guard as fitted to my blue ex-NSW Police MK II S.

I think that might be an Aussie one, UK versions were quite different.
