Yep.....me too Smokey, unfortunately though, I got a bit squashed in my first Mini back in the '70's, but at least I survived to "wave" another day.

BTW, saw a great bumper sticker some time back and I just gotta get one, "I'd rather be an old fart than a young dickhead".............Yessss, that's the one for me :D

I never wave to BINIs (unless it's someone I know), cos I wouldn't wave at a BMW or a Laser, or a Corolla...

im  by that claim
what about people who are just nice and wanna wave to a mini?
irrespective of what car they are in

On reflection, my reply may have been a bit hasty. I will wave at someone who waves at me if they are complementing my car - I waved at a guy in a Lancer who gave me a thumbs up last week.

I wouldn't wave to a BINI driver I didn't know, unless I believed they were complimenting my car and respecting it, just like that Lancer driver. But if some try-hard is trying to identify my car with their BMW copycat rubbish, I'm not interested.

(I'll stop now before I start ranting!)

Same with female mid/old ladies.

Can't expect much from em anyway

Mate, I'm in my 50's and usually initiate the wave or blast the air horns at other Minis.

Does that make me the exception to the rule?

I may be in that age bracket but I've yet to grow up :D

Cheers and beers willy

 Nar but its just a general thing that i've noticed.
These drivers are usually the ones that have owned the car since brand new, and don't think of ever doing something like this.
They are the ones that don't know how to use computers or mobile phones.
They don't communicate with other mini owners, as they are not true ENTHUSIASTS :)

Interesting......so you're saying you can interpret human motives through hand movement?? That's a pretty serious talent.

Ever think that maybe that BINI driving chick wanted to wave to YOU?

I dont really feel any particular affinity or affection to BINI drivers and so dont care if they wave or don't. Plus I live at Coogee, work around the Cross and Paddington (no I don't walk the streets) and go to Uni with heaps of students from Asian conntries and the North Shore so if I waived or expected a waive from every BINI I see my arms would fall off. BINIs and Audi TTs seem to be the real Volkes Wagens of the decade.

Binis don't wave at me and I don't wave at them.
Minis don't wave at me and I don't wave at them.

That is what you get when you drive a Morris 1100.

Riley Elfs wave though! Must be the taillights.

No. Because she did not wave at me when she drove a new beetle and I was driving the Mini. Plus she does not wave at me when I'm driving the Jackaroo. So in her particular case, its obvious. :)

The fact that she drives 3" from my back bumper in either car at any speed, and has held me up at green lights while doing her makeup in the mirror does not endear me to her either. :x

I get the same thing from people walking on the side of the road - waving and the thumbs up. In defence of the bini, there is a black one in the suburb I live in(full of well-to-do's,,,), a cooper s and he and she wave every time we see each other - maybe they had a common garden variety Mini in a past life...lol

It is all a big keeping up appearances amongst the majority of the bini owner frat, but it is heartening to see some of them recognising their cars lineage(even though i am a lowly clubby driver!!)

I am not worthy!!!!
