You don't know If these stops are easily adapted to a mini rack do you??

Ever since I fitted my new rack, I new have too much lock. The wheels can scrub (If only slightly) on the guards, but more concerning is the fact that my abnormally large brakes now hit the Radius arms (never a problem with the old rack). The problem with this is that it pushes the callipers apart and it can take an extra pump to get pedal back. If I could limit the steering to what the old rack was, these problems wouldn't exist.

Sorry to hijack the post - but any ideas anyone??

Late Sportspack Minis have extra stops in the rack for the same purpose. But a late UK rack and a Aussie Moke one are very different. I've never pulled apart a Moke or late UK rack, so I don't know what tthey look like. My MOke has a Mini rack, so the front tyres do hit. I'm going to strip a spare rack in the next few weeks and see if I can work out how they put the stops in a Moke one.

If you fit a late model UK rack (Mark II or later), you need late UK model steering arms on the front hubs. Otherwise you can have geometry issues. So say the Mini magazines anyway.

:)

The EJ Wagon had a better turning circle than the mini

My father has driven the mini about 3-4 times
Once was on the way home from buying, good mini it was then

ANd then he just jumped in it a few times, and if i dont go and give him a belting for going near it, which is the norm, ill get him the key and ill jump in the passenger seat. and off we shall go. All he does is abuse the mini, and says that i need to get the breaks fixed, and that was many months ago.
But its good fun, cause he'll yell/talk roughly to slow down a bit, and obviously the inverse is the result.

Never shall i drive again with my mother.

In anything, especially the mini. She extra dislikes it when i drive, anywhere
When i start up the mini, i give it a bit of noisyness, and she comes out and yells at me, and then when i come home, ill whack it back a gear at 100 kays, and she can hear me coming from 500 metres away, and when i get in teh house, You MUST treat the mini better or you will blow it up.
so shes a funny woman. She wont get in a car with me, and father also likes to stir her about it.
and she reckons the mini is having no mods done to it at all. Yet she wont drive it
It prollu wont get done up but its good for a stir.
and she also immesnly dislike it when i come up the lane and does huge handbrakies in the gravel, due to this poor turning cirlce,
okl thats a story, and this is about your dad.
so leave mothers alone
have a noce sleep and thna  :P

 Uhmmm... dude, I wouldn't get in a car with you. In fact, I would try to avoid being on the same road as you.

I would call her wise, not funny.

Bob, I think you need to swap your steering arms out for UK one's and they're different to the Oz ones and should be matched to the rack...

:)

The MK2 UK racks have a tighter turning circle and 2.7 turns L-L instead of 2.2 on the Oz ones.
Yes you really should have MK2 arms on there, but nobody seems to publicise this fact when they sell you the new UK rack..
There's about 1/4" difference in position of the tie rod end hole in the arm.

If you are running an Oz rack (check turns lock to lock.. 2.2) yes you should swap the steering arms for some Oz ones.
Over here both the early 850 type and the Cooper S & Deluxe- onwards type (thicker) are the same geometry.

 The UK MK2 onwards ones all have 2 little ears next to the tie rod end hole.
If U got those, put them on here and someone will grab 'em.

I'm assuming you got the 8.4s from UK complete with swivel hubs and arms on. If not, ignore what I just said..
