I don't know much about vinyl paint exept that the upholsterer I use showed me a sample of some vinyl they sprayed for a mini resto. They sprayed a roll of new brown vinyl which had the correct texture to the green colour used in the 60's. They then used it to upholster the whole interior.

I was amazed how good it looked. He offered me a Stanley knife to try and scratch it off and I couldn't.

The upholsterer was using a professional spray system and a commercial paint so you may not get the same result but judging by some of the replies you must be able to still get a good result with DIY.

Oh yeah, I figured as much

But if I get 3 months out of it before it starts to wear thin on the drivers seat, I reckon i'm getting good mileage out of a few bucks worth of spray paint!

Cheers phillb

Has anyone got any before and after pics of their interior without vinyl paint, then after you sprayed them?
