I do stupid stuff all the time, When I make to many mistakes thats how I know to call it a day.

The number of times Ive struggled with something for ages then come back the next day and it just goes together is astounding.

The same for me. Even a coffee break can be enough to clear the head and when you go back to the job, you see your mistake immediately.

I had a moment like that last weekend re-inserting the Beetle's engine after a clutch swap. It just would not go fully home into the bellhousing and I strugged and swore at it for a good 45mins.

After a coffee the light globe lit in my head and I put a spanner on the crank pulley. I turned it about 3 degrees and the motor slid straight it. It was just that the clutch splines had not lined up with the input shaft.
