Windscreens are designed to be removed from the outside

So no, it shouldn't damage it removing it from the outside - Just means you have to put it back in again

Try some lock picks, they're available at Repco etc, and usually work on simple locks like mini door ones. Won't damage locks and new ones aren't a problem.

Want you to picture the scene... Arrive tooled up with everything to take out the rear window... Son in tow to help push it out of the shed...

"Er Dad the Keys are in the ignition"

"What are you talking about"

"Doors unlocked Dad..."

Seems I'm a bit brighter than I thought! Or not maybe?

Anyway Min is now home...

Thanks for all the advice folks!

:D

No problem, we now have an excellent thread for anyone who does lose their keys.

Might have to stick "look in the ignition" a bit higher up the list than "break a window"

Well I wasn't wrong when I said find the keys.

Maybe you should now get a spare door key cut and hide it in an obvious clever spot, for example inside a model mini the same colour as your real car. That way if this happens again, you can once again 'look in the car'.

He would have had to do it by telekinesis... He was on a plane to Singapore...

But I do like the idea of putting the keys in a model of the Min... And Christmas is coming up too!
