A lot of these Minis didn't even have a door mirror from factory so if you fit one it has to be a positive not a negative.

There are Rover Minis on the road down there with Rover mirrors, I don't see the problem.
Most Minis left now pre-date the ADRs anyway.

why? I reckon it spoils it if ti wasn't there in the first place

years ago, I was failed a pink slip roadworthy cos I didn't have side mirrors - I contacted the RTA and they stated that if they were not there to start with then there's no need for me to have to install em. Glad i didn't to be honest even now years later. I have a bullet mirror in the garage but didn't want to drill holes to install it, so happily get by without

just my two bobs worth, as you were . .

I agree, if i was building a stock car or was planning on drilling holes into doors that didnt already have holes it would ruin it.
But
A. Its a clubby
B. I'm going to learn how to drive in it so i need to see
C. It already has holes in both doors
D. The car isnt going to be 100% stock

When i got pulled over a few months ago (simply because i was driving a mini and it looked a bit bomby, the police lad is known as being a goose as well) he tried telling me i need a side mirror, i argued the point. I went home and looked for ADR's and side mirrors. ADR came in 72, mine is an 12/71 so i was right and he was wrong.

Tex mirrors are sold in Australia. Needing an ADR for them i wouldnt bother, if it looks good who cares. The police are not goign to know the difference and the insurance company wont either.

I would put whatever i want on it, a mirror is better than no mirror. Plus having the wrong mirror isnt going to cause you to have accident (well it shouldnt).

Do whatever you want i reckon, i would

I have just sold my son's 2009 VW Golf, it had the Convex mirrors on both doors, it does take a bit of getting used to judging distances, you check your mirror and the car behind looks quite a way back, a quick check over the shoulder and you realise just how close it actually is.

I personally prefer the mirrors on my SS Commodore, convex on the passengers side and flat on the drivers side. Personal preference but I didn't overly like the convex one on the driver side.
