There were two or three different column lengths in Clubbies with a key on the column. The column and key switch is different to UK Models, so again, these bits will need to come from Australia if you want to restore it to original. The switches were a bit unreliable in my experience. It's probably better to use a UK column if you find one locally.

If you get a firm list together of what you need/want, Ausmini can help you sort out the parts from Ausmini people or businesses like Mini King, Minis Plus or Karcraft.

Cheers,

The choke is in the correct position, and it should have a T handle like that, but it should say CHOKE on it. New choke cables can be bought, and I believe they aren't specific to Aussie cars.

The P switch to the right would, as suggested, be for the dash light dimmer. I believe P is for Panel.

If it is an early model the centre ignition is correct.

While early models did have an ignition switch in this centre panel rather than on the column this is not one of them. At least the centre panel is not one of them. The correct early panels had the switch mounted in the centre of the panel. This one is simply a normal Clubman type with a hole drilled for a switch, note it is off centre.

This one from a Clubman GT

Cheers

i've seen that seat trim before, i don't think they've been re-upholstered, i'm pretty sure they're an original factory trim colour.i've also seen a couple of door cards that matched. maybe out of an SS or LS?

The rear seat matches the front.

Here are some engine bay shots, a previous owner had a 1275 motor installed that we are currently still trying to get to run right.

There is a heater core at the bottom of the engine bay, that is where those metal pipes are running. I am not sure if I am keeping it or not.

The heater core is a common mod in Australia to deal with high summer temps.

I can see the Compliance Plate pop-riveted to the top of the drivers side inner fender in the bottom pic of the above post. It's near the bonnet pin. If you read that plate it should give you the month and year of despatch and a whole lot of bilge about ADR's - Australian Design Rules. The Chassis number will be stamped in that plate also and with than number we can tell exactly what you have there. If you post it up, best to blot out the last digit or two for security.

Seats are definitely out of a 76 onwards Aussie Mini LS. Seatbelts appear to be original issue.

Engine is a 1275 block judging by the head and the breather arrangement although the thermostat housing look wrong somehow. That head is a late polluion head as used on the last Aussie Minis and the Austin America. Not a bad thing.

Well it's not a '71 - '73 like the A panel badges might have indicated. With no hydro and no hole in the firewall it has to be a bit later.

It has the hole, but it's got the blanking plate fitted. That could have been added later... likewise, the hydro could have been removed so it's possible (although admittedly unlikely) it's an early car.

It has the hole, it just has the cover plate over it.

Seats look like 77/78 Leyland Mini S seats. Some of them had the inserts like that.

buddylove, if you send me the Vin number I can decode it for you. The Compliance plate (the vin plate but it is not really called a vin at that stage) has the number stamped on it. The number will be something like 021D2S1M09 12345. (or and early one might be YG2S7-12345)
The number on the plate should also be stamped on the radiator shroud panel.

I think the Orange colour is "Bitter Apricot" which was used around 73/75.

Too true, just had another look and realised my mistake, only really looked at the last pic and didn't see the edge/lip of the hole

I almost did the same thing! That last pic hides the edge of the plate very well!

The wiper motor says 73 on it, but the motor has been replaced with a 1275 power unit when it came to the USA. There are body tags on it on the front right wing. One still has the vin # and all, but the 2nd tag I can't read at all because it is so faded.

Is the second tag a silver foil sticker? If so it is the paint colour label.
