According to BMC and the Society of Automotive Engineers, the burst pressure of the Hydro Bags was over 2000 psi. Why would that be?

I wonder what the peak Hydro Pressure was upon landing?

Extreme, yes, but the comps dept did use, without any noted failure, the hydro system for many years.

The hydro pressure in that car on landing would be zero. It was a dry suspension car.

Well done GT, Another quality post from the experts expert.

Mmmmm....do you even know what hydrolastic suspension lools like?

Here's an under bonnet shot of that car

so, what are the hydrolastic displacer pipes there for? This car was built in 1967, right in the thick of the hydro days.

You're alway good for a laugh. Merry Christmas :P

Thanks Mark for the photo.

GT's pic is of the 1967 injected Mini, however this rego number had a previous life, among other things was used on a car in 1966 to win the Acropolis rally.
Q- was it the same hydro? car though...

According to Browning, in his book, yeap those photos ^ are of the same hydro car. You can check for yourself, I know you have his book. Page 117. The 1966 Acropolis car was a different car, just the same rego, as you know, they awapped these from car to car to avoid taxes.
